Unit Allocation
Storage units are assigned based on availability and the size of the unit requested. Our staff will assist you in selecting the appropriate unit for your needs.
Payment Terms
Understanding our payment policies helps maintain transparency and avoid any misunderstandings.
Rental Fees
Monthly rental fees are due on the first day of each month. Late payments may incur additional charges as outlined below.
- Accepted Payment Methods: We accept payments via credit card, debit card, bank transfer, and direct debit.
- Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required upon signing the rental agreement.
Late Payment Policy
If payment is not received within five (5) days of the due date, a late fee of £25 will be added to your account. Continued non-payment may result in termination of the rental agreement and potential legal action.
Usage Policies
Our storage facility maintains specific usage guidelines to ensure safety and security for all customers.
Permitted Items
- Allowed Items: Household goods, furniture, electronics, and personal items.
- Prohibited Items: Hazardous materials, perishable goods, firearms, and illegal substances.
Storage Restrictions
Items must be stored properly to prevent damage. Customers should use appropriate packaging and protect belongings from moisture and pests.
Liability and Insurance
While we take every precaution to secure your belongings, understanding our liability and insurance terms is crucial.
Liability Limit
Our liability for any loss or damage to stored items is limited to £100 per item unless additional insurance is purchased.
Insurance Options
- Basic Coverage: Included in the rental fee for up to £100 per item.
- Extended Coverage: Available for an additional fee, covering higher-value items.
Access and Security
Ensuring the security of your stored items is our top priority. We have implemented various measures to safeguard your belongings.
Facility Access
- Access Hours: 7 AM to 10 PM daily.
- Access Control: Electronic keypad entry system. Do not share your access code.
Security Measures
- Surveillance: 24/7 CCTV monitoring throughout the facility.
- On-site Staff: Trained personnel available during operating hours.
- Fencing: Perimeter fencing with secure gates.
Termination of Agreement
Understanding how to terminate your rental agreement is important for both parties.
Notice Period
Customers must provide at least thirty (30) days written notice prior to terminating the rental agreement.
Early Termination
If you choose to terminate your agreement before the end of the rental period, an early termination fee may apply as specified in your contract.
Move-Out Procedures
- Inspection: A final inspection will be conducted to assess the condition of the unit.
- Refunds: Security deposits will be refunded within fourteen (14) days after move-out, minus any deductions for damages or unpaid fees.
Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a positive storage experience, customers must adhere to the following responsibilities.
Maintaining Cleanliness
Customers are responsible for keeping their storage units clean and free from infestation or damage.
Compliance with Laws
All items stored must comply with local, state, and federal laws. We reserve the right to refuse storage of any items that violate these laws.
Notification of Changes
Customers must notify the storage facility of any changes in contact information or if they relinquish possession of the storage unit.
Facility Rules
Adhering to our facility rules ensures safety and efficiency for all customers.
No Subletting
Customers are not permitted to sublet their storage units without explicit written consent from the facility management.
Prohibition of Live Animals
No live animals are allowed in the storage units, with the exception of service animals as defined by law.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, the following procedures will be followed to seek a resolution.
Mediation
Both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing legal action to resolve any disagreements.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Storage Tooting facility operates.
